In July of 2019 I accepted a position at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee, WA. John had been hired with Chelan County One Fire District and with my new position, came the realization we needed to move to Wenatchee. I will admit, the thought of leaving Chelan behind made me anxious. We had called the small tourist town home for nine years however, change was just what we needed. After moving to Wenatchee Michaela reached out wanting photos of her family. The caviot to this session is that her husband Pete is John’s Battalion Chief with CCFD1. John was in his probationary year as a firefighter and calmly replied to the news that the Rigelman’s booked a session with me, “You got this….right?” To which I said, “I sure do honey!”
We ventured up Horselake Road in Wenatchee as the sun set behind the rolling cascades. The wind was profound this evening and we hid down valley until the gusts died down over time. Many of these images are taken right alongside the access road, a gateway to the popular outdoor recreation trails scattering the Horselake Road hillside. This was my first portrait session in Wenatchee and I couldn’t have asked for a better famiily to explore the area with.
Michaela and Pete just celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary so it seems all the more fitting to finally blog this session. Please enjoy these images and happy anniversary Michaela and Pete, aka, Chief Rigelman!
