Welcome, friend.

I’m Megan Kathleen and I’m so happy you’re here!

Chances are you’re looking for a photographer who can tell your story in an honest and authentic way. That’s a big deal -- a big responsibility. And it’s important you choose well.

You want images that feel real, because you know the most memorable photos are genuine and authentic, rather than staged and scripted.

You need to find a photographer that feels a lot like a friend. Someone that you trust so that you can relax, have fun, and be open to express the dynamic of your relationship. I am here to help and I truly can't wait to get to know you and your story.

Speaking of stories, here's a little snippet of mine.

As a young kid, my Dad carried a camera much of the time. He wasn’t a professional photographer by any means, he simply found tremendous joy in documenting his life and family.

By nature, I grew up valuing deep human connection and recognizing that everyone has a story to tell however, my journey to discovering art wasn't a straight shot. As a young woman trying to figure life out, I found myself lost in societal norms.

For a time, I thought I had to be that cookie-cutter ideal. I marched in that straight little line directly into the college classroom...

But my desire to live outside the box - to embrace freedom and adventure - just wouldn’t quit tugging at my soul.

Maybe you can relate to that drive to go your own way?

While I was still in my 9-to-5, I moved heaven and earth (a.k.a. I didn’t take a day off for months and months) so I could travel across the globe for an entire 4 weeks.

I documented my travels with a small point and shoot camera and while on the road I became in awe of us humans; what we’re all doing here and how we connect with the people around us.

Then, I started living this back and forth life where I would save up all of my time off throughout the year to go abroad for a handful of weeks just to return home from my travels and start saving up all over again, already dreaming of my next adventure.

After returning home from my second trip to Southeast Asia, my Dad suddenly passed away. I was 26 years old and absolutely devastated.

This loss catapulted me into an entirely new and uncharted chapter in life.

What I realized fairly quickly and with certain clarity was that what I desired more than ANYTHING in the world was freedom. Even if it meant simplifying my life and making less money.

So, I quit my well respected job with an impeccable retirement plan in exchange for freedom. I spent less and needed less. I drove less and walked everywhere!

And the best part? I traveled without limitation.

What I found, was a simpler life,
full of possibility.

I picked up a camera and started documenting whatever pulled on my heart strings. I started telling stories with pictures.

For me, photography became more than taking pretty pictures. It became an expression of each moment, an opportunity to tell a story that would otherwise, unknowingly, float by.

When I am creating I feel like I am living out an innate piece of my soul that is woven into my heart. When I stand behind my camera, I am present. I am feeling. I am BREATHING deeper than I do in any other moment of my life.

I work to create an experience that is focused on that true connection.
